MAJALENGKA – macakata.com – Komjen Pol (Retired) Nanan Soekarna, a retired Deputy Chief of Police, has now officially served as Chairman of the YPPM (Yayasan Pembina Pendidikan Majalengka) Foundation that oversees Majalengka University (Unma). In addition to himself, the inauguration of the management and supervisory board of YPPM has also been inaugurated and confirmed by the Chairman of the YPPM Foundation, Aceng Jarkasih.

The inauguration of the Chairman and the YPPM Unma management board took place at the Unma Campus Auditorium on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. In front of journalists, Nanan stated that he was ready to lead YPPM, which oversees Unma, to be more prosperous than today. Therefore, he will look for a business expert team so that the YPPM Unma foundation has a side business.

“There must be a breakthrough in business or other ventures, for example, the foundation builds a hotel or inn. Later, we will look for a business expert team. The profits will be for the welfare of everyone,” he said.

Not only that, the former Deputy Chief of Police is also ready to be audited by an independent auditor. In fact, this independent auditor team will be invited at the beginning of his leadership at YPPM Unma.

“So, not at the end of the term. I will immediately invite an independent auditor team. I do this to ensure that my performance as chairman and the YPPM management board is clean and transparent. This is based on the foundation of mutual interest in advancing Unma,” he said.

Nanan added that an independent auditor will be prepared to oversee the performance of YPPM during his leadership. Nanan invited all parties to let go of personal interests and help each other to advance Unma at all levels, and it would be better if there were many achievements.

Nanan acknowledged that personal problems and interests should not hinder YPPM’s efforts to advance Unma and become a pioneer in higher education.

“I have been sworn in and I am ready to carry out my duties as Chairman of YPPM for the 2024-2029 period. This is based on the intention to develop Unma to be better in achieving the vision and mission of advancing education,” he said.

Nanan saw that even though he is not from Majalengka and has now been inaugurated as Chairman of the YPPM Management, he ensured that he has no interests other than advancing Unma.

Nanan added that during his leadership at YPPM Unma, he will take a role in developing imtaq (faith and piety), as the development of science and technology has been discussed by lecturers in class.

“My experience during my education at Akpol, every cadet has a teacher and mentor to develop science and technology as well as faith and piety,” he emphasized.

Similar sentiments were expressed by the Vice Chairman of YPPM Unma, H. Setiahadi Martomijoyo, who said that they are ready to help advance the Unma educational institution, in accordance with Unma’s vision and mission. ( Acil )
