Supporting the Governor’s Program, Back to Print and Having Products

MAJALENGKA – In the porch of his house, thousands of books are neatly arranged on open shelves. Similarly, when entering the living room or guest room, illustrated books and novels adorn the walls. Approximately 30,000 books are well-maintained. Neighboring children often drop by to borrow books or simply read at the Dahlia Reading House.

At the Dahlia Reading House, located in the Dahlia neighborhood, Cijati Village, Majalengka Regency, West Java, the owner and manager wants to share his love of reading while supporting the Governor’s policy of returning to printed materials. “Alhamdulillah, every day, there are children from the neighborhood who come here to read or borrow books,” said Achmad Ardi Prawira, the manager of Dahlia Reading House, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

Ardi added that, in addition to the collection of thousands of books, the Dahlia Reading House also develops small-scale home-based business production to support local UMKM programs. “Happily, there are many passion fruit plants behind the house, so we make passion fruit juice in bottles and market it,” he revealed.

According to him, a library or reading house managed independently should be beneficial to the surrounding community. Therefore, the motto of the Dahlia Reading House is “Library Transformation Based on Social Inclusion.” “This house is open for access to any reading material, whether you want to read here or borrow it,” he said.
