MAJALENGKA – macakata.com – A gang specializing in car theft was apprehended by a joint team from the Majalengka Police Resort (Polres Majalengka) of the West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar). The group operated by damaging targeted vehicles parked inside home garages before carrying out the thefts.
The suspects, identified by their initials DS (38), TR (45), and SA (53), all residents of Indramayu, were arrested in Blok Kliwon RT 04/02, Sukakerta Village, Kertajati District, Majalengka Regency. The three are currently detained at the Majalengka Police Station for further investigation.
AKP Tito Witular, Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at Majalengka Police Resort, stated that the trio was arrested after stealing a four-wheeled vehicle in Kertajati. Two suspects were apprehended on February 2, 2025, in Indramayu, while a third was later arrested in Bogor, West Java, following an expanded investigation.
“We arrested them along with stolen evidence, including a white Toyota New Avanza,” he said on Friday, February 14, 2025.
Tito explained that the arrests began with a report filed by the owner of the stolen vehicle. The theft occurred on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 5:30 a.m. WIB in Blok Kliwon, Sukakerta Village, Kertajati.
“The car owner reported the incident to the Kertajati Police Sector, which initiated our investigation. We later discovered two crime scenes in Majalengka linked to the four-wheeled vehicle thefts,” he added.
Police received a tip that one suspect was from Indramayu, prompting the Majalengka Police team to pursue leads in the area.
“We successfully tracked down the suspects, initially arresting two in Indramayu and later a third in Bogor through further investigation,” Tito said. (Acil)
