Cipaku Village Government Resigned to Rules and Laws

After Rp500 Million Used for Online Gambling, Cipaku Village, Kadipaten District, Protests by Residents

MAJALENGKA – macakata.com – The Cipaku Village Government, Kadipaten District, Majalengka Regency, was again protested by its residents. The banners with demands from residents regarding the use of Rp500 million budget, allegedly used for online slot and gambling as well as trading by the village secretary of Cipaku, adorned the walls of the Cipaku village hall.

Loud shouts from Cipaku Village residents demanding that the village officials who used the money for non-designated purposes step down from their positions were heard very clearly. Meanwhile, the Head of Cipaku Village, who was inside the village office accompanied by other village officials, could not do much. Officers from the Satpol PP, police, and TNI were present to guard and prepare.

Nono Karsono, the Head of Cipaku Village, when interviewed, said that they were ready to follow the process according to the applicable laws and regulations. “This incident will be followed according to the applicable legal process,” he said on Monday, April 14, 2025.

Nono also acknowledged that the village secretary, who is also his child, would be handed over and follow the applicable legal process. “He said it was used for online gambling. Honestly, both me as the village head and the treasurer were caught off guard,” he said.

Krispol, a community leader in Cipaku Village, said that they would continue to hold demonstrations to demand transparency and for the funds used for online gambling to be returned according to their intended purpose. “Because as far as we know, there is a budget for community assistance related to social assistance. Instead, it was used for online gambling, that’s outrageous,” he emphasized. (Cil)
