MAJALENGKA – macakata.com – Thousands of people, representing the Majalengka Muslim Community Movement (Gemma), held a protest rally by marching from GGM to Majalengka Square and ending in front of the Majalengka Regency Pendopo. The orators urged the Muslim community to stop buying Israeli products, as this would greatly harm Muslims worldwide, especially in Palestine.
The action leader, Acep Saepudin, said that the boycott campaign would continue as a form of concern for Muslims in Majalengka Regency to support the people of Palestine. “We call for a boycott of Israeli products because it will hurt the people of Palestine,” he said on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
Acep added that Gemma Majalengka is a coalition of Muslim communities from various Islamic organizations such as Persatuan Islam, Nahdlatul Ulama, Muhammadiyah, PUI, and LDII. “We are also collecting donations, and the results will be directly donated,” he said.
The Israeli products targeted by the boycott include Fanta, Coca-Cola, Pizza Hut, KFC, Unilever products, and many more. To identify other Israeli products, one of the orators suggested using the NO application by scanning the barcode on the product.
The orators also warned Muslims in Majalengka Regency not to be tempted by Israeli products that are currently offering large discounts. “It’s better to buy local products and support our own UMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) that clearly produce Muslim products,” said one of the orators, Roni Setiawan.
